A Life of Faithful Service –
The Journey of Larry Miller

For decades, Larry has devoted his life to the gospel of Jesus Christ—at home and around the world. From local churches to global missions, his heart has remained fixed on God’s calling.

A Calling Fulfilled
“I never, ever went back—because I knew I was doing what God wanted.”

Larry’s journey began in a small American town with no Roman Catholic presence—an environment that quietly shaped his early view of faith. Though he launched a promising career as an engineer in West Virginia and Louisiana, a deeper calling stirred within him. In a defining act of obedience, Larry stepped away from his profession to enter seminary and pursue full-time ministry, forever changing the course of his life. Throughout this journey, he has been faithfully supported by his wife, Marcella—a devoted partner in ministry, a discipler of women, and a loving mother to their three children.

"These things I have written to you . . . so that you may know that you have eternal life."

(I John 5:13)

Pastoral Leadership in Louisiana (30 Years)
Planting with the Faithful
Along with 11 faithful and committed people, Larry helped plant a Bible-based church in New Orleans—built on Scripture and a desire to reach the spiritually hungry.
From Small Group to Thriving Congregation
That small beginning grew into a vibrant congregation of over 400 people. The church became a place of community, growth, and steady gospel-centered teaching.
Reaching the Spiritually Uncertain
Approximately two-thirds of the members came from Roman Catholic backgrounds. Many were drawn by Larry’s compassionate teaching on grace and the certainty of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Equipping Everyday Evangelists
Most were reached not by sermons, but through friends and family—trained within the church to share the saving gospel of Christ with those they loved.

"Therefore, when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit."

(John 19:30)

Global Mission Work in Eastern Europe

After three decades of pastoral service, Larry felt a new calling—one that would carry him across the ocean. With the support of four faithful men serving as board members, Equippers Ministry International was founded to expand his mission internationally.

For 20 years, Larry—often alongside his wife, Marcella—traveled twice a year to Moldova and Romania. His goal: to train and mentor pastors, church planters, and leaders in biblical teaching, spiritual formation, marriage, leadership, and evangelism.

Despite language and cultural barriers, Larry built deep, trusting relationships that endure to this day. His influence continues through the pastors and churches he helped equip—many of whom now lead thriving ministries of their own.

He was continually moved by the courage of local believers, some of whom risked everything to follow Jesus.

“I met people whose faith cost them everything—and they still wouldn’t be quiet.”
Teaching and Training in the U.S.

In addition to his international missions, Larry traveled extensively across the United States—from Florida to Minnesota—leading pastoral workshops and church training sessions designed to equip church leaders for effective gospel outreach.

His focus was clear: to help others engage people from different faith traditions—especially those from Roman Catholic backgrounds—with Bible-based grace, clarity, and compassion. The certainty of salvation through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ remained central to every message he delivered.

This work, often conducted under the banner of Equippers Ministry International, included weekend intensives, interactive small group sessions, and the use of Larry’s own written materials to deepen learning and increase outreach capacity within the local church.

“Training isn’t just about passing information. It’s also about forming conviction—and helping others carry it forward.”

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result works, so that no one may boast."

(Ephesians 2:8,9)
